This video looks like it takes place in an Asian country, such as China or Japan, in a school and on the streets. The main characters are: the deaf girl, the deaf man, and the girl with the ponytail The internal conflict would be that the girl who plays the violin is deaf and the external conflict is the girl with the ponytail who plays the piano is trying to sabotage the deaf girl. The violin represents doing something you love no matter what stands in your way as well as hope for a better life. The antagonist would be the girl with the pony tail and the protagonist is the deaf girl. Its ironic how the deaf girl is able to play the violin even though she cannot hear it. It seems like the climax would have to be when the deaf girl’s mentor is being beat up. The theme is that you can do anything as long as you try.

I think the Lyre bird is amazing. That seems like it would be so cool to be able to copy sounds you hear no matter what it is. At first when watching the video I did not really think that the bird was making the car arlarm noises or the noises from the machines. It didn’t seem possible for an animal to be able to do that when the only way a human can copy noises is through some type of recorder. But after the video was over I realized it was actually able to copy sounds it hears.

At the same time it would be very confusing if you were another bird and the Lyre bird was mimicing your call to trick you. I don’t really see the point in this bird wanting to mimic other birds, it would just confuse them since its such an acurate call.

The creepy pencil and the way the girl was dressed was a big part of setting the mood. Her outfit looked dated and worn out as well as her hair, and the penicl’s creepy face made the short video almost scary like the pencil was going to do something bad to the girl. I think the girl’s fate was not deserved because she wasn’t trying to draw major things that could impact her life just little things to make a lonely girl happy. But when she was trying to get a simple lolipop then the pencil made it a blackhole that sucked the girl away. There is a lesson to this video, dont mess with things you already have or things that you havn’t yet to earn. Its meant to be that the girl didnt have those things at that time but she didnt know any better, she just wanted to be happier. But if I had a pencil like that then I would probably draw a car, since i need a new one, but only if there wasn’t any chance of me being sicked away through a black hole.

3rd assignment:sorting people

Its hard to sort people into racial groups just by looking at pictures of them. Even though thats what many people do today, judging people by how they look when they could be totally wrong about their racial background. When I was sorting the people i tried to look at the color of their skin(which now i know is cmopletely inaccurate when it comes to their race) and i tried to look at heir hair color and the shape of their eyes to tell if they were of Asian decent. I did not score very high on this task, I only got 6 correct. At first I thought it was easy, until i got towards the end when i wanted to put 8 people in the hispanic section. I think it is importatnt to realize that we are all from different decent and its unfair to them to judge them wrongly.

This is my first time ever using a blog to express how i feel for a class assignment or in my free time. I am very excited though to try something new. I think it will be an interesting experience being able to share how I feel through writing for others to see. I have always wanted to start a blog but have never gotten around to it till now for my english assignment. I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds throught the course of this class.
